We ask all FBC members to prayerfully consider either joining one of our new ministry teams. Sunday School classes should begin now to talk about who will serve as their representative on the various teams. Contact Scott Jones or Gains Gardner for more information.
1.
Connect Team: responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating
FBC's efforts to unite believers in agape love.
· Made up of Connect Leaders from Adult Sunday School classes and volunteers from the congregation.
· This team will meet with the pastor to study what it means scripturally to connect with the body of Christ and experience koinonia, and prayerfully consider ways to engage the members of FBC in meaningful relationships.
· The goal is to have quarterly church-wide fellowship events, and monthly or quarterly Sunday School Class fellowships, and to pray consistently for the unity of our church.
2.
Sunday School Council: plan, implement, and evaluate the Sunday School
ministry of FBC.
· Sunday School is the foundational strategy for leading people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and for building On-Mission Christians through open Bible study groups that engage people in evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and worship.
· The Sunday School Council will lead FBC to develop and implement a strategy, organize with purpose, build kingdom leaders, develop soul-winners, win the lost, assimilate people, partner with families, teach for spiritual transformation, mobilize for ministry, and multiply leaders and Bible Study groups.
· The Sunday School Council will be led by the Minister of Education/Administration and be made up of representatives from all Adult S. S. classes, a Children's representative, a Youth representative, and a Preschool representative.
3. Grow Team: plan, organize, implement, and
evaluate FBC's discipleship ministry.
· Our discipleship ministry will be:
o Intentional and on-going
o Comprehensive
o Transformational
o Accountable and relational
o Focused
o Relevant to the needs of our members
· A variety of classes and learning experiences will be offered in the spiritual disciplines including abiding in Christ, living by God's word, praying in faith, building godly relationships, witnessing to the world, and ministering to others.
· Classes offered will fit into the overall discipleship strategy defined by this team
4.
Serve Team: study, plan, organize, implement, and evaluate FBC's service
ministries.
This team will:
· Absorb the current Missions Committee (which will cease to exist), and be made up of other volunteers whose names will be presented to the church for approval
· Prayerfully consider how to meet the needs of our members and the people of Aransas County, including but not limited to: benevolence, Christian Counseling, life skills (marriage, finances, parenting, etc.), 12 Step and recovery groups. Lead the church to develop, implement, and evaluate these ministries.
· Prayerfully consider how to meet the needs of our sister churches in the Blanco Baptist Association and beyond, as God leads. How can we meet the financial, physical, ministry needs of churches and ministers? Lead the church to develop, implement, and evaluate these ministries.
· Plan missions Offerings
· Plan, implement mission trips and projects locally, in Texas, in the United States, and internationally
5.
Reach Team: explore a suitable outreach program for FBC (GROW or FAITH),
and plan, organize, implement, and evaluate that ministry.
· Team members made up of representatives from each adult Sunday School class and volunteers from the congregation. This team will:
· Study and implement an appropriate outreach strategy/program
· Provide training and guidance in evangelism and making visits
· Get prospects connected to Sunday School classes
· Coordinate contacting prospects from worship services and other ministries
· Make contact with new residents in Rockport
· Organize and lead the Usher/Greeter ministry
